Advising Center Services
The Advising Center offers both in-person and virtual meetings. We are open weekdays (except holidays and breaks). Drop-ins are welcome, but we encourage you to in advance when possible. You can also contact us by sending an email (advisingcenter@oxy.edu) or calling during our office hours.
At 17³Ô¹Ï, faculty advisors are the primary source of advising and guidance for students as they navigate the academic program. The Advising Center provides additional support for students on routine academic matters, including questions about academic policies and procedures, tracking Core Requirements, placement exams, transferring credit from other institutions, and so on. We also frequently meet with students who are undecided about a major or minor and wish to discuss the various options.
The Advising Center also serves as a good first stop for students who aren't sure which office or faculty member to talk to regarding a specific program or objective.
Making an Appointment
While drop-ins are welcome, we recommend in advance to ensure that an advisor will be available to meet with you. Appointments can be either in person or via telephone. Advising Center Hours
Fall and Spring Semester Schedule
During the academic year, we have office hours each business day. Students have the option of selecting an in-person meeting, a phone call, or a Zoom video conference. In-person meetings are held in Johnson Student Center room 134 (directly underneath the Market Place dining room). The Advising Center offers extended hours during busy period of the semester, including Advising and Registration weeks.

Summer Schedule
During the summer, the Advising Center offers appointments over Zoom. We are also happy to answer questions via email. Our summer office hours are posted below, but feel free to contact us at advisingcenter@oxy.edu at any time and we'll respond as soon as possible.
