As part of its continuing effort to raise awareness of the issue of sexual assault on campus, 17³Ô¹Ï’s Project SAFE will present Empowerment Week Sept. 29-Oct. 6. 

The eight-day program features a series of events to promote education and resources on sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking.

Monday, Sept. 29
RAINN Day: Meet Project SAFE
Get to know our staff and find out what it means to be an Oxy Upstander, active bystander and community member.

Project SAFE Keynote Speaker Sharon Love
Through her work with the One Love Foundation, Sharon Love honors the memory of her daughter, Yeardley Love, a University of Virginia senior, lacrosse player and Theta who lost her life to relationship violence at the hands of her ex-boyfriend two weeks before graduation.

Tuesday, Sept. 30
Project SAFE: Chalk the Quad!
Bust common domestic/dating violence myths and show your support for survivors.

Project SAFE: Healthy Conflict Resolution Workshop
Join Project SAFE and Emmons Counseling for a workshop and discussion on tools to resolve conflict in intimate relationships, friendships, and in your community.

Tie-Dye for Domestic/Dating Violence Awareness
Bring an item you wish to tie-dye purple to show your support for survivors and victims of dating and domestic violence.

Film Screening and Discussion of Girl Rising
Girl Rising is a documentary that illuminates how the global movement to educate girls is combating sexual violence, dismantling systems of oppression and empowering communities.
